Overview

Discover one of the most sensitive chemical detectors readily available to students: the human tongue! In A Taste of Chemistry, teachers will learn how to incorporate the biochemistry of taste into their classroom instruction. The curriculum material presented can be readily utilized as a stand-alone unit or incorporated throughout the year into various units. Engage and excite your students in new ways by weaving together chemistry, nutrition, genetics and cell biochemistry in an interdisciplinary fashion. This curriculum is fully aligned with the PA state standards.

Logistics

A Taste of Chemistry is a free, week-long summer workshop, located at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, near Philadelphia, PA. A travel stipend will be issued for teachers accepted into the program. For more detailed information, please go to the Logistics section.
